I couldn’t ask for a more suitable little girl. She loves grits, being tickled and can’t wait to get her hands on some hot sauce.

The Zoë Menace!
Last week, Zoë put on one of Maryanne’s sweatshirts and started cruising around. Maryanne snapped a bunch of pictures of her since she looked like a little Jedi running around. So the next day I was bored at work and spent a couple minutes with my friend photoshop. Click on the slideshow below to see the pics in full size.

Zoë’s First Birthday Party!
Here’s a slide show of Zoë’s first birthday! Either click on the slide show or follow this link to browse through and see them in a larger format.
You might notice a couple pictures with her “ugly doll”. M took that picture so we would have a nice comparison of how much she’s grown in the last year.
Compare this:
She’s come a long way!

Video of the Princess
Zoë is pretty good at keeping us entertained. Here’s a short clip of her doing just that.

Just in time
Just in time for Christmas Zoe has started waving. It’s absolutely adorable, and she made one of the tough guy young men at church break into a gleeful smile and wave back during church. Perfect.
She also made out like a complete and utter bandit today, with tons and tons of presents. She basically got a toy store. And she’s only deathly afraid of one of the toys (a little triangle that makes a frog sound- don’t ask me) so we’ll take that as a win. Merry Christmas everyone!

A Zoë by any other name…
Apparently Zoë does not want to go by her given name. This morning as I was leaving for work, she was laying around on the floor and I said “bye Zoë” a couple times to know response. Then I tried something else. “Bye boo boo”. Yup, that got a response. I guess now we’ll have to start being more attentive to her given name.

As I slowly turn into my pappa…
My dad has this great trait in that he hates to see any of his family get hurt. I remember once when Zoë’s auntie Hayden fell off her bike, my dad got really mad. Not at Hayden, not at me (Hayden was showing me a “trick” at the time), but at her bike and the ground for contributing to her getting hurt. I definitely think I have inherited that trait.
This last week, Zoë has been sick and its driving me crazy. When she’s crying because she feels bad, I get mad at the germs that are making her feel bad. I think its a reaction to not being able to really do anything except be there. Something is troubling my little girl and I want to fix it. If I could punch out a virus, I would.
