Well, Zoë’s official due date, June 7, has come and gone, and she is still firmly ensconced in her more than 9 month home from which she will soon be evicted. Hopefully this reluctance to emerge signifies a tendency to want to finish things completely rather than any thing else it could signify. I’d think it means she just likes to sleep, like her momma, but her momma was born 6 weeks early, and there’s plenty of sleep to be done out here! So it’s time! Ring the bells and the alarm clocks, it’s time to wake up!
One of the strangest things about pregnancy is not knowing when things will happen, but we do know one thing- now she’s got a deadline. I am not in fact an elephant, and she can’t stay cooped up forever. The doctor will induce if she’s not born by June 16, and since the induction is scheduled for the evening, her birthday will be June 16 or 17. So, will she make an appearance before then? I sure hope so! Toward that end, please send all wake up call thoughts firmly in her direction. And please make them loud. Loud, loud thoughts.
